The Ancient Egyptians depicted the Scarab(dung beetle) as the "Great Mind". The Scarab has a exoskeleton similar to the human brain, having 3 parts which favor the right & left cerebral hemispheres, & the cerebellum in the back. Thus, the scarab who shapes dung into balls, is identified as "The Potter/Creator". The Scarab would fertilize their eggs by planting them into its dung(feces) then roll the dung into a ball then roll it up & down the hill- symbolizing the suns journey across the heavens. When the eggs hatched the baby beetles would craw out the dung- symbolizing how the beauty of life/creation is established out of threw chaos(dung/feces/bateria).
